BAPScarCare Thin silicone sheets are the ultimate occlusion barrier for larger scars that may have clothing rub against them, they even conform to body contours. At 0.3mm thick and transparent they are virtually invisible. They also add a slight compression meaning they aid in the prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars from forming.
You can start using these once the scar is healed and sealed with no signs of infection or weeping and can be used in conjunction with moisturisers (such as Alhydran) to provided the ultimate self care treatment. These sheets can be worn for up to 23 hrs a day with each sheet lasting providing 7 days treatment. To get the maximum benefit it is recommended to apply silicone sheets for 3-6 months. These sheets can be cut to size, but a 1 cm boarder of 1cm around the scar should be covered.
